Witness At Ted Cruz Hearing Accuses Congress’ Two Muslim Members Of Muslim Brotherhood Ties

Witness At Ted Cruz Hearing Accuses Congress’ Two Muslim Members Of Muslim Brotherhood Ties

This doesn’t normally happen on the Hill.

BRENDAN SMIALOWSKI/GETTY IMAGES
Reps. Keith Ellison and Andre Carson, the two Muslim members of Congress, were accused by a witness at a Senate hearing of having ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.
In explosive testimony Tuesday, a witness before a Senate panel about Islamic terrorism accused the two Muslim members of Congress of having attended an event organized by the Muslim Brotherhood.
The charge was leveled by Chris Gaubatz, a “national security consultant” who has moonlighted as an undercover agitator of Muslim groups that he accuses of being terrorist outfits, and it was directed at Reps. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) and AndrĂ© Carson (D-Ind.). At the heart of his accusation is the attendance by those two members at a 2008 convention hosted by the Islamic Society of North America — a Muslim umbrella group, which Gaubatz claims is a front for the Muslim Brotherhood.
“I attended a convention in Columbus, Ohio, in 2008, organized by Muslim Brotherhood group, ISNA, and both the Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Prisons had recruitment and outreach booths,” Gaubatz said in his testimony. “Both Congressman Keith Ellison, MN, and Andre Carson, IN, spoke at the Muslim Brotherhood event.”
Allegations that Ellison and Carson are secret Muslim agents with extremist leanings are usually found among fringe groups online, often discussed in dire tones on poorly designed websites. Rarely, if ever, do such sentiments get read into congressional testimony, with the imprimatur that offers.
Responsibility for this rare instance lies with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who oversaw the hearing as chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Oversight, Agency Action, Federal Rights and Federal Courts and whose staff likely saw the testimonies of the witnesses.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) later addressed Tuesday’s hearing and defended Ellison.
“He is my congressman. He is a man of great patriotism,” she said, adding that he has advocated for additional funding for efforts to detect what attracts young people to join terrorist groups.
An aide to Ellison confirmed that he did attend the 2008 ISNA convention. He’s gone to a few of the group’s conventions, in fact. Carson’s office didn’t return a request for comment. But news reports show that both he and Carson led a discussion at the 2008 convention on how to mobilize Muslims politically. President Barack Obama has addressed the group as well, though only via a video recording.

Critics of ISNA have insisted that these politicians have either turned a blind eye to — or explicitly embraced — the group’s affiliation with the Muslim Brotherhood, an affiliation that is based on ties some of the founding ISNA members have allegedly had to the hard-line religious organization. ISNA has long insisted that no such connection has ever existed.
“I can definitely tell you we are not Muslim Brotherhood. We are not affiliated with them at all and never were,” said Faryal Khatri, an official with ISNA. “That much I can reassure you.”

ISNA is not the only group targeted by Gaubatz. In 2009, he told Talking Points Memo that he obtained an internship with the Council on American-Islamic Relations as part of an effort to secretly collect evidence against the group to be used in a book written by his father. The book, “Muslim Mafia,” alleged that CAIR, a Muslim advocacy group that works to combat Islamophobia, was a front for the Muslim Brotherhood.
Cruz’s office did not respond to a request for comment on Gaubatz’s allegations against Ellison and Carson or whether it had given either member a chance to respond. But the senator has displayed a tolerance for these kinds of conspiracy theories in the past.
Before he suspended his presidential campaign, Cruz appointed known Islamophobe Frank Gaffney to his team of national security advisers. Gaffney, now head of the Center for Security Policy, has objected to Ellison and Carson serving on the House Intelligence Committee because he believes their Muslim faith could compel them to leak information to the Muslim Brotherhood. He has also accused Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin, and conservative heavyweights Grover Norquist and Suhail Khan of being closeted Muslim Brotherhood members.
When asked about his controversial selection, Cruz defended Gaffney as a “serious thinker” focused on “fighting jihadism across the globe.”

SHTF Intelligence: Getting Started

(Part One)

by
Sam Culper, Forward Observer Magazine

This is the first article in a series about using intelligence for preparedness.  I'm starting from square zero in order to introduce a new crop of Americans to the concept of using intelligence, to prove that there's a need for intelligence, and to get readers quickly up to speed on how to incorporate it into their security planning.  After getting caught up to speed, if you'd like to read more in-depth and put theory into practice, a book entitled  SHTF Intelligence will show you the way forward.  You can find a small homework exercise here.

Why do I need intelligence?
Because everyone has blind spots.  A common theme in the preparedness community is beans, bullets, and band-aids.  We need food and water to survive, we need medicine to treat injuries and illness, and we need guns and ammo for defense... but against whom?
In a Shit-Hits-The-Fan (SHTF) or survival situation, if we're dumping hundreds or thousands or more dollars into beans, bullets, and baid-aids, doesn't it stand to reason that we should investigate our surroundings as well?
I think so.  I was a military and contract intelligence analyst, and we in this country are likely to face a lot of the same types of situations that we dealt with in Iraq and Afghanistan:
  • Our neighbors and the populace - are they for us or against us? What are their politics and attitudes? Which households should we approach to build community security in a SHTF situation?  Which households will be adversarial to us?
  • Key Human Terrain - who wields influence in the area?  Where do the nearest tradesmen, engineers, and medical professionals live in case we need their help?
  • Known bad guys - who are the active criminals and gangs in the area?  What are their activities and how can we identify their indicators?
  • Future bad guys - who's likely to engage in criminality in the future?  Which parts of the population are going to resort to criminal behavior in a time of need?  Most importantly, in what areas will they be active and how will they affect my community?
  • Law enforcement - how will they respond to a SHTF situation?  If they're going home, as is often assumed, then where do they live and how can we work with them?
  • Critical infrastructure - what keeps the world spinning in our area?  Do we have critical infrastructure that would invite armed security or suggest an increase in criminal activity?  Where can we get the things we need to maintain our survivability?
These are just a few questions that intelligence can answer.  At the heart of intelligence is the ability to reduce uncertainty.  If you're concerned about grid-down or financial collapse or the Golden Horde or some other event or threat, then some basic intelligence work should be at the top of your To Do list.
Ultimately, what intelligence brings to the table is an ability to make well-informed, time-sensitive decisions.
Colonel John Boyd, an Air Force fighter pilot, was the first to describe the decision-making process he called the OODA Loop.  Because fighter pilots have to make split-second decisions, their ability to Observe a development, Orient to what that means, Decide which course of action they should take and then Act on it, is a critical part of their survivability in combat.  Similarly, lots of tactical shooting trainers have incorporated the OODA Loop into their curriculum for the exact same reason.
That ability to Observe and Orient is the informational phase of the decision-making process.  Can you imagine getting into a gunfight if you can't see or hear your opponent?  Yet that's exactly what many are preparing to do on a larger level.  We're limited by our field of vision and line of sight, but with an intelligence effort, we can begin to see well beyond just our line of sight.
So what intelligence allows us to do during a SHTF scenario is not just see our opponent, but potentially observe him before a conflict arises.  This is called Early Warning, and it's one of the two key responsibilities of our community security element.
The second major responsibility is producing Threat Intelligence.  Knowing that a gang is active in your area is a good first step.  We need to move beyond our intuitive approach to information and start using a structured, methodical process to completely remove our blind spots.  In essence, we need to graduate from mere information and start producing intelligence.
The difference between information and intelligence is simple:  information is raw data, and intelligence is the evaluated, assessed, and synthesized information that answers, "So what?"  Hearing that there was a murder in your community is not intelligence; it's just information.  Identifying the perpetrator and his current location, finding out where and why the murder took place, determining how it's going to affect the community, and compiling it into a consumable product is intelligence.

We do this through the Intelligence Cycle.  There are five phases and I'll briefly detail them in order.  In Phase One, we understand our mission, assign analytic tasks and responsibilities, and begin generating our intelligence requirements (covered in the next section).  In Phase Two, we task those requirements out for collection. Once that information is collected and reported, we start with Phase Three, where we analyze the incoming information.  After filtering out the bad information, and analyzing the good information, we produce the actual intelligence.  We provide predictive intelligence - describing what might or is likely to happen in the future - or estimative intelligence - describing an organization's strength and capabilities. Finally, once we produce the intelligence, we need to ensure that it gets into the hands of the right people.  In Phase Five, we disseminate the intelligence to our leadership, our community security team, or the community at large.
Let's start with Phase One.  We need to generate some intelligence requirements, in other words statements or questions that describe intelligence gaps.
Let's say that you do have a gang in the area.  What don't we know about that gang, but need to?  Do we know how many members are associated with the gang?  Do we know where those gang members hang out?  Do we know where those gangs are criminally activity?  Do we know if certain areas are at a higher risk than others (and have we mapped out those areas)?  There are potentially lots of intelligence gaps we have, especially if we expect them to be active in a SHTF scenario.
So we can take these questions and start a list:
  1. How many members are in the Leroy Jenkins Gang?
  2. What are the known hangout spots for Leroy Jenkins Gang members?
  3. Identify all high-risk areas for Leroy Jenkins Gang activity.
  4. Et cetera...
If we're building a house - in our case, an intelligence product, then this list of requirements represents our building materials.  This is all the information - the lumber, nails, bolts, roofing shingles, doors, and windows - we need to finish our intelligence estimate.  Without knowing what we need, we won't build a very good house.
And thus ends lesson one.  Head on over to our homework pagefor a practical exercise.  I've also posted a video that will step you through the process of analyzing your community from multiple angles.

No states’ rights?

All three branches of the federal government have abandoned the rule of law for the more expedient rule of man.

Yesterday’s Supreme Court decision erodes states’ lawmaking ability to safeguard the health and safety of women while protecting innocent life.

This abandonment of the rule of law is just the latest example of why America needs an Article V Convention of States to return power to We The People.

I need your help to make the Texas Plan a reality. Contribute to my campaign today to make sure I have the reinforcements this next legislative session to establish Texas as the clear leader in reining in the federal government.

Texas' goal is to protect innocent life, while ensuring the highest health and safety standards for women.

The Supreme Court has been rewriting and amending the Constitution with its own fabricated language as opposed to simply applying the Constitution as it was written for nearly a century.

Join me as we work to add Texas to the call for an Article V Convention of States.

The Supreme Court is dominated by individuals who substitute personal policy preferences for the Constitution and laws of the United States.

Our nation faces entrenched constitutional abuses that require constitutional solutions. The same Supreme Court that has dismissed the Tenth Amendment as a “truism” and a “tautology” also has repeatedly refused to enforce it.

Add your contribution and your support to help the Texas Plan return meaning to the 10th Amendment.

For America to remain the freest nation in history, it is essential to keep the power and reach of government firmly in the hands of We The People.

And Texas must lead the way.

Sincerely,

Greg Abbott

The FDA is stockpiling military weapons — and it’s not alone - The Boston Globe

America’s gun culture has been a subject of intense interest and controversy for years, with concerns frequently raised about shadowy militias, paramilitary extremists, and unstable zealots in possession of alarming quantities of explosives and firearms.

Amid the current din over assault weapons and body armor, consider one domestic organization’s fearsome arsenal of military-style equipment.

In the space of eight years, the group amassed a stockpile of pistols, shotguns, and semiautomatic rifles, along with ample supplies of ammunition, liquid explosives, gun scopes, and suppressors. In its cache as well are night-vision goggles, gas cannons, plus armored vests, drones, and surveillance equipment. Between 2006 and 2014, this organization spent nearly $4.8 million to arm itself. Yet its aggressive weapons buildup has drawn almost no public attention.

Does all this firepower belong to a jihadist terror cell? A right-wing hate group? A vicious urban gang?

None of the above. It is the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, an agency of the US Department of Agriculture, that has built up such a formidable collection of munitions. And far from being an outlier, it is one of dozens of federal agencies that spends lavishly on guns, ammunition, and military-style equipment.

A report issued this month by American Transparency, a nonpartisan watchdog that compiles data on public expenditures, chronicles the explosive — and expensive — trend toward militarizing federal agencies, most of which have no military responsibilities. Between 2006 and 2014, the report shows, 67 federal bureaus, departments, offices, and services spent at least $1.48 billion on ammunition and materiel one might expect to find in the hands of SWAT teams, Special Forces soldiers — or terrorists.

The largest share of that spending has gone to traditional law enforcement agencies, such as the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, and the US Secret Service. But the arms race has metastasized to federal agencies with strictly regulatory or administrative functions. The Internal Revenue Service, for example, now spends more than $1 million annually on firearms, ammunition, and military gear, double what it was spending a decade ago. Since 2006, the Department of Veterans Affairs — which has been sharply criticized for episodes of fatal incompetence in patient care — has poured nearly $11.7 million into guns and ammo. Even the Smithsonian Institution and the Social Security Administration have each devoted hundreds of thousands of dollars to weaponry.

Incredibly, there are now fewer US Marines than there are officers at federal administrative agencies with the authority to carry weapons and make arrests. The soaring growth of this federal arsenal alarms Adam Andrzejewski, the head of American Transparency’s OpenTheBooks.com, which researched and assembled the new report. “Just who,” he asks, “are the feds planning to battle?”

Arguments long and loud about all the deadly firepower in the hands of private US citizens regularly engage liberals and conservatives. Far less notice has been paid to all the deadly firepower in the hands of federal bureaucrats. “The government itself has become a gun show that never adjourns,” remarks former US senator Tom Coburn. Dozens of federal agencies — entities that will never be called on to fight foreign enemies — now pack heat at unprecedented levels. Perhaps that, too, is something Americans should be arguing about

'You Are Not The King': Judge Jeanine Destroys Obama’s Reaction To SCOTUS Immigration Decision

Fox Nation Exclusive: 'You Are Not The King': Judge Jeanine Destroys Obama’s Reaction To SCOTUS Immigration Decision

Published June 25, 2016

Earlier today, President Obama reacted to the Supreme Court's decision to block his executive amnesty  actions.
Obama lamented the decision, claiming that "immigration should not scare us". "Immigration will keep us youthful and dynamic".

"Immigration will keep us poorer and weaker, replied Judge Jeanine Pirro in her rebuttal to the President's remarks. "Mr. President, have you looked at Europe lately? It's a mess!"
"This is not a dictatorship. You are not the king. You cannot decide what the laws are and you cannot decide to ignore the laws", said Pirro.
"It's about time you respected Americans, respected the law, respected the courts and stopped with this crazy 'I'm the King and I'm gonna let everybody in and America's gonna look different'."

WEAPONS OF THE NAVY SEALS

WEAPONS OF THE NAVY SEALS

By Eric Poole
Nothing gives a weapon system more credibility than a stamp of approval by the U.S. Navy SEALs. These Tier 1 operators use an extensive array of weapon systems that, in some cases, were developed specifically for their mission requirements. The controversial Colt M4A1 carbine remains the standard issue weapon for SEALs while pistols are carried as a secondary tool. A SEAL team’s weapons choice is always dependent on mission requirements and what follows is short list of tools commonly found in their kit:
mark-23-li.jpgHANDGUNS:
HK Mk 23 SOCOM .45 ACP

The HK Mk 23 was a pistol developed specifically for the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) and was officially adopted in 1996. The Mk 23 was chosen for supreme accuracy, reliable functioning, corrosion resistant properties and terminal ballistics behind the .45 ACP. It stood against various torture tests including a separate unlubricated 96-hour surf and saline mist tests, 30,000-round +P ammunition endurance firing, drop tests, 450 accuracy test firings, submersion in sand, sludge in temperatures ranging between 160 degrees and -60 degrees Fahrenheit. The extended barrel features threading designed to accept a KAC suppressor.
SPECIFICATIONS: Heckler & Koch Mark 23
Caliber: .45 ACP

Colt M4A1 5.56 NATO

The Colt M4A1 is a SEAL’s primary weapon and features the SOPMOD (Special Operations Peculiar) accessory kit including a six-position Crane collapsible stock. More compact than the U.S. Navy’s standard issue M16A2, the modular M4A1 can be reconfigured by the user for missions with a grenade launcher, shotgun, various optics, lasers and illumination tools. Capable of both semi-auto and full-auto modes, the M4 has a rate of fire between 750 and 900 rounds per minute and uses a quick-attach suppressor. Additional enhancements are currently being considered.
SPECIFICATIONS: Colt M4A1
Caliber: 5.56 NATO
Weight: 5.6 lbs.
Length: 33” (stock extended), 29.8” (stock collapsed)

070907-n-6477m-113.jpgSNIPER RIFLES:
Knight’s Armament Mk 11 SWS 7.62 NATO

The Mk 11 SWS (Sniper Weapon System) is based on the highly accurate SR-25 also produced by KAC. The Mk 11 was developed to meet a solicitation placed by the U.S. Navy SEALs. Featuring controls like the standard issue Colt M4A1, the Mk 11 is a unique semi-auto-only sniper rifle that can be suppressed and is capable of delivering effective precision beyond 1,000 yards.
SPECIFICATIONS: KAC Mk 11 SWS 7.62
Caliber: 7.62 NATO

m82a1.jpgBarrett M82A1 SASR .50 BMG
Procured in time for the first Gulf War, the M82 made a reputation for long range and deep penetrating effectiveness against hard targets. Adopted as the SASR (Special Application Scoped Rifle), it has expanded capabilities with EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) and as extreme range anti-personnel rifle. This short recoil, rotating bolt semi-automatic rifle delivers high energy and was famously used in Somalia by the SEALs in 1993 against many enemy vehicles.
SPECIFICATIONS: Barrett M82A1 SASR
Caliber: .50 BMG
Weight: 31.0 lbs.
Length: 48 or 57”
Barrel length: 20 or 29”

us_navy_seals_in_from_water.jpgSUBMACHINE GUNS:
HK MP5N 9mm NATO

The compact MP5 continues to be popular among elite counter-terror organizations. Operating from a unique roller-delayed blowback system, the MP5N was developed by Heckler and Koch specifically for the SEALs. This “Navy” model fires from both a closed and locked bolt in semi-auto, burst, or full-auto modes. The 800 round-per-minute MP5 is extremely accurate and provides a superb option for CQB operations earning praise from the SEALs for its controllability, smooth operation and accurate shot placement.

Supreme Court Declines to Review Gun Bans
On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to review lower court decisions upholding sweeping bans on popular semiautomatic firearms enacted in Connecticut and New York in the wake of the attack on Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT. The high court last December took a pass in a similar case originating out of Highland Park, a Chicago suburb. Justices Thomas and Scalia filed a written dissent from that earlier decision, stating, “noncompliance with our Second Amendment precedents warrants this Court’s attention as much as any of our precedents ….”

EU Moves Forward with Plan to Restrict Semi-Autos
While perhaps not the most publicized recent development regarding the European Union, in recent weeks the political bloc has pushed forward with its plans to severely curtail gun rights across its 27 member states. On June 10, the European Council endorsed a version of the proposed changes to the European Firearms Directive pushed by the European Commission late last year in the wake of terrorist violence. The European Parliament still has a chance to weigh in on the issue, with a final vote scheduled for later this year.

After the attack at Pulse night club in Orlando, Hillary Clinton looked past the obvious enemy – radical Islamic terror – and instead said "weapons of war have no place on our streets" and that we need to ban AR-15s immediately. AR-15s are fine for Hillary and her family. They've been protected by armed guards who use them for three decades. But average Americans who watch the news and feel genuine fear for their safety, and their families’ safety—Hillary wants to deny them the level of protection she insists upon herself.

The Truth About the Terror Watchlist
The Truth About the Terror Watchlist
Irresponsible politicians and their media friends have suggested that the NRA wants to make it easier for terrorists to obtain firearms. This isn't just wrong, it's infuriating. NRA members have given their lives fighting this war on terror. When it comes to national security, we take a backseat to no one. If an investigation uncovers evidence of terrorist activity or involvement, the government should be allowed to immediately go to court, block the sale and arrest the terrorist. We must also uphold due process protections that allow law-abiding Americans who are wrongly put on a watchlist to be removed. The NRA will not let President Obama and Hillary Clinton distract attention away from their repeated failure to keep us safe. They apologize for America and our way of life, and accuse you of bigotry if you call the enemy who they are—"radical Islamic terrorists." Make no mistake—the NRA will fight without apology to protect the rights of law-abiding Americans to defend themselves. We will not back down one inch in the face of those who want to eliminate our American freedom.
