My mother in law passed away on the 4th of July this year, her father a WWII Vet and ex husband a Vietnam Vet . But this lady worked hard all her life , up to the day she died. She had been a diabetic before I even had the pleasure of meeting her the first time, last year she had to start having dialysis and filed for disability benefits, and was approved and deserving of this since she had worked and paid in her entire adult life. She received her disability check on Friday July first, being 400$ overdrawn already from previous month. She then went ahead and paid her monthly bills, went grocery shopping and paid rent. She passes away on the afternoon of the 4th, the next morning the Social Security department pulls her check BACK OUT of her checking account, thus bouncing all the checks she has written and throwing her account into overdraft. My sister in law contacts SOCIAL SECURITY and they tell her" well she don't need it to live on this month" and basically says fuck you. Now while grief stricken, paying for services the family, poor family, has got to come up with all the money to cover this. HEY SOCIAL SECURITY ! IT IS OUR MONEY TO START WITH! You have stolen from a dead lady!
